In Literacy this week we revisited
the use of persuasive devices to enhance the writer’s position and to persuade the
reader. We also discussed the idea of the
audience and the writer’s capacity to orient, engage and persuade the
reader.
We have continued to develop a
group understanding around the issue of water. This will be an ongoing focus in the coming
weeks.
This week we looked at the
Murray-Darling Basin and the how data can be collated and used to
support a writer’s position. Building
content knowledge also allows students to engage more with a text. The students
worked in expert groups where they focused on a section of the text. They then
shared their new understanding with another group. The students collaborated and supported each
other throughout the process.
Happy Mother’s Day and have a
great weekend.
