In Literacy we have begun investigating areas of government
and the Australian parliament. This week these included the role of the Prime
Minister and other members of parliament and how individual members of the
community can become active citizens and contribute to change. The literacy
skills we are continuing to develop include the ability to identify the main
ideas and supporting evidence in a text, scanning texts for key facts, summarising and understanding how textual features contribute to an increased understanding.
All students are reminded to have a text at school that they
can be using for independent reading.
